Title:  Associate Lead-Taxation


Job Summary

The role reports to the Head of Tax, you will be involved in a range of interesting responsibilities, including

  • Providing support to Businesses on strategic projects related to tax.
  • Risk and some strategic compliance management across the Group;
  • Support on predominantly direct tax matters (such as WHT, Transfer Pricing etc) for the MiddleEast and ASPAC regions.
  • Providing support to Businesses during tax audits

Roles & Responsibilities

With strong links to the Businesses teams and senior management you will have the following responsibilities:
•    Provide tax support to the Head of Tax and other team members on key projects
•    Provide strong tax support to the Group Finance team, Treasury team, Legal colleagues, HR and other colleagues which tax interacts with.
•    Provide technical support on tax matters to the Businesses including the reviewing of Transfer Pricing documentation, CIT submissions, contracts and structuring of deals.
•    Work with the Head of Tax to ensure that tax accounting and compliance is effectively managed, and risk is mitigated
•    Develop good relationships with the Finance teams  and support with the CIT compliance (CIT/ WHT / TP) as required.
•    Support during the transfer pricing projects as necessary
•    Support on tax aspects of potential acquisitions or disposals.
•    Identify opportunities and risks for the Group.
•    Stay up to date with key developments and policy change. Ensure a good understanding of the relevance of legislative changes on the Group.
•    Provide strong effective support and show proactive involvement in projects in the area of continuous improvement in respect of risk management.
•    Together with other members of the tax and finance team, support tax authority enquiries and audits.
•    Work with IS to develop ERP based controls and reports for effective tax compliance.
•    Together with other tax colleagues, manage interactions with advisors and third-party service providers.
•    Analyze technical positions and write technical papers, as necessary.
•    Ad hoc project work and other support within the tax function


•    Gain a complete understanding of applicable corporate tax in all countries where IFFCO operates.
•    Keep updated on latest developments and issue periodic tax impact advisories
•    Ensure compliance with applicable tax laws.
•    Support Head Taxation in Group initiatives, including strategic tax planning and transfer pricing.
•    Ensure timely filings, accounting, tax payments/refunds. 
•    Pursue appeals/objections to tax assessments/orders.
•    Mentor and support BU/SSC tax compliance teams. 

Work experience requirement

  • Around 2-3 years relevant experience of handling direct tax matters in Big 4 audit firms or MNCs (preferably in CPG industry) in India.


  • Professional accounting/tax qualification (CA/CPA/ACCA or equivalent). A legal qualification will be an added advantage.
